CommunityEventYou’re Not Alone Goodwin Family

January 21, 2020

We have a couple of events coming up at Rural Roots to support BJ Goodwin & Family. The Goodwin’s are a local family that has been enduring the effects of cancer.

“BJ was first diagnosed with a brain tumour after he suffered a stroke at age 27 in 2011. The MRI showed a spot on his left temporal lobe. He was sent to a specialist in London where he was told the news. Because the tumour was small, the specialist recommended regular MRI’s and checkups to keep an eye on the tumour’s growth. Over the next few years, the tumour slowly grew, and in the spring of 2016, the specialist recommended brain surgery and the entire tumour was removed and chemo and radiation weren’t necessary. Life continued until fall 2019 when the specialist saw changes in his MRI. BJ would fight again. He is now undergoing 30 radiation treatments and chemotherapy to remove the cancer. BJ is a fighter through and through. His upbeat personality, positive attitude and love for his children keep him going strong, and with the love and support of his family and friends he will win his fight with cancer.”

First, on January 25th we will be dedicating $1.00 from every pour of tap 1 (Here We Go!) to the Goodwins. You can see our event on facebook here.

On February 15th, we have Under Surveillance playing live. We will be charging $5.00 cover and those funds will be donated. You can see the event details here.
