At Rural Roots, our Passion is not beer! There, we said it. We are about community, roots, and creating an inviting and comfortable space for everyone. Our passion (small “p”), however, is beer!
We appreciate quality because if something is worth doing, it is worth doing well. We are interested in crafting beer that encourages people to slow down and savour the nuances of something special. We sincerely hope you enjoy our beer.
Roger has been brewing beer in his garage for many years. He finds great joy in working with a recipe and tweaking it until it is just right. Friends, family and even some strangers invited in for tasting notes have all loved his beer and encouraged him to sell it.
“We started researching what needed to be done to share this craft with more people. One thing has led to another – and here we are! It hasn’t been an easy process, but it’s an enriching one that we are so excited to share with you. ”

Tanja is a social service graduate turned business owner. She enjoys spending time with her beautiful Bully, Binsen, cooking, and creating plant-based healing products. Her favourite part of the work is the meaningful relationships she has formed with both staff and regulars, and she feels incredibly lucky for the amazing team they have built and grateful to be a part of it.

Sarah has worked at PIB for 20 years and recently joined Rural Roots part-time. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys, especially being outdoors together – camping, visiting cottages, parks, or simply relaxing at home. She also enjoys time with friends and a nice cold beer. Sarah is happy to be part of such a great group at Rural Roots.
‘Kyle’ is studying psychology in her first year at Wilfred Laurier University. Although she is the youngest on the team, she is by far the tallest and smartest. When she is not at school or serving up pints with a smile, she can be found at home spending quality time with her family. Kyle is the gentle (with a touch of mischievous) part of the team we didn’t know we needed. We look forward to free psycho-therapy sessions in the future.

Cameron loves to travel the world and spend time outdoors. Her favourite place she’s visited so far is Thailand, and she’s always happy to recommend it to others. She may seem quiet at first, but once you get to know her, her funny and sarcastic personality quickly shows up. She’s usually behind the bar pouring beers and keeping things interesting – whether you’re ready for it or not.Cam is super excited to be part of the Rural Roots team and to meet everyone – and their furry friends.
Sydney has been part of the Rural Roots family for a few years now, and we couldn’t imagine the place without her. She’s our little sparkplug — always bringing big energy, even bigger smiles, and a whole lot of heart to every shift. Whether she’s pouring pints or keeping the crew laughing, Sydney’s warmth and positivity light up the taproom. She’s the kind of teammate everyone hopes for — dependable, fun, and full of personality. We’re so lucky to have her behind the bar and in our corner. Here’s to more laughter, more memories, and a whole lot more Sydney!
